Okay, here's the scoop. About a month ago, I started to have car problems. The problem was my motor was dying. So, i took it to the auto shop and about a couple of days later, which was on a Tuesday of last week, i got my car back. Note: my car has 172,000 miles on it, and i keep it well-maintained so it can run like a normal car should. But about 30 minutes ago, i went outside, and i tried to turn the ignition on, and it won't budge; all i can hear is a slow turning noise when i'm trying to turn the ignition on. M y question to you all is, why is this happening? Could it be the weather? Cause it is alittle cold out here today or does it need to be charged ? Cause like i said before, everytime i turn the ignition, it makes this slow turning noise, and that's it.

Turn the lights on and then turn the car over. If the lights dim then you have confirmed what it sounds like - a flat battery.
If they don't dim it sounds like you might need a new starter motor.

If I had extra information on the twelve months make and sort of the vehicle it would help with hassle shooting. some issues you've got performed that should reason this would be a track up, a vacuum verify, and gasoline stress try. with a track up in case you're taking it to a physically powerful save, they ought to replace the spark plugs, wires, gasoline clear out, (in case you have a distributor) the cap and rotor. with the vacuum verify they conflict to work out what you contemporary manifold vacuum is and then run some tests to verify in case you have a vacuum leak. with the gasoline stress try they connect some gages to the gasoline gadget and notice how plenty stress the gasoline pump is putting out. If this is low they understand you have a foul pump or clear out. they might then replace the pump. no count if it rather is intermittent and your no longer receiving a verify engine gentle the subject would merely be a clogged gasoline clear out. there can be plausible of an electric powered difficulty. have the mechanic verify or replace the two the battery cables besides.

I had a similar issue and it turned out that my head gaskets were leaking water into my spark plugs. When this happened we had to decide if the car was worth the amout we had to pay in repairs. This job can cause upwards of $2600. What year is the car? What type of car is it? It'll be best to take it to a repair shop that specializes in engine problems because, my dear, that appears to be the problem.

First, you need to have the Battery and charging system checked. have you tried to jump it off? If it will start with a boost, take it to Autozone, or Advanced and they can check it all in the car. If it will not, you need to get the battery charged and the car running, then have it checked. Good luck, and if you have any more problems, email me and i will try to help

It sounds like your battery is about to go bad. You can take it to auto zone or somewhere like that and they will test it for you for free. Heck they'll even install it at no charge. Either that or your starter is going out. Check the battery first though.

slow turning is either weak battery or a bad starter, try giving it a jump first, than try changing the starter

it could be the starter, or alternator, or just the battery, I think maybe I'd check the starter.
