When I was driving my car and was stopped at a red light my car was fine. When I pressed down the gas pedal, it stalled out and then it kept on doing it more and more. Now it happened and will not start back up at all.

These are all good answers. It would help to know what kind of car you have. I have seen a carbeureter gasket cause this problem, but what if it's a diesel engine. See what I mean?

It's probably not too bad. Take it to a good shop and they should get you going pretty quick. Drive a rental while it's in the shop. Enjoy your life. They wil call you when it is fixed.

I'm sure you've checked the fuel level but other than that, it could be the fuel pump going out and then quit. most vehicles have a positive displacement pump, and when the clearances become larger, it will not pump the fuel to your system
