Prima makes a strategy guide for WarCraft 3, both the original, and the Frozen Throne. The strategy guides come included with the WarCraft BattleChest, but I believe you can purchase the books seperately also. Prima strategy guides can usually be found in the video game stores, and certain book stores, like Barnes & Noble, and of course, you can always check Amazon.com, or Ebay.

Sounds like you still have to learn the basics of the game. I would recommend you begin by picking a single race to play with so that you can learn the ins and outs of that race. I will try to explain undead to you, as this is where most of my experience lies. Here are some of the more popular strategies:
-Lich orb. The undead orb gives -5 armor to the unit its attacking, and stacks with everything else thats attacking it.
-Necro wagon. Necromancers make skeletons from corpses, and meat wagons carry and can generate corpses with upgrades. A statue with mana regen would help along with DK DL auras.
-Destroyers. After converting a statue to a destroyer you can absorb the mana from another statue and then convert that to a destroyer as well. Destroyers with mana get a nice bonus to their attack and area of effect damage.

Unfortunately you didnt ask for a team or solo strategy so I dont know what specifics you want and cant list them all. Here are some general things that work for all races

-Scouting. This allows you to know what they are doing, when to attack, and what units you should get to defeat theirs.
-Abuse armor types. Units with magic attack such as chims, griffs, and destroyers do rediculous damage against heavy armor units such as abominations, knights, and druids of the claw. Learn armor types to know what units to get and not to get based on your opponents move.
-Focus Fire. All of your units attacking their weakest ones first reduces their combat damage. Pressing either alt or ctrl(not sure which) will show health bars on screen.
-Surrounds. A surrounded unit can not flee when you attack it.
-Be focused. Warcraft 3 is a very fast paced game. Play it as quickly as you can.
