I think it is totally true because when you love someone and you loose you will at least have those wonderful memories which will have the moments that you spent with that loved one.you can cherish those memories through out your life and live with them.moreover you will have hope that may be sometime your love will come back to you.this thought gives you your motive to live.It is better to live with memories and hope than to live hopeless life with out a single day to cherish

I guess thats another way of saying even if alone in the end of some sort of love that at least we had that chance with someone. There is so much to learn from love even if its painful. But I guess Im sounding like a councelor because Im at the point of love in my life. If I were to lose this it would be very hard for me. I dont know how I would react. Some love runs so deep that when it ends it feels like we cant love anymore. So, I dont know if loving someone is worth it because I havent lost it in such a manner. Its all a matter of perspective I suppose. Its a statement that we all have different answers and feeling about it.

If you think about it, it can't be true! Because true "love" (like true "friendship") is unattainable. Do you truly know anyone who actually has all those definitions for "love" in them and shows it for another 24/7? They might be able to conger up a few concepts of "love" at a time, but it soon changes. None of us can be capable of obliging all that love is, therefore we cannot lose what we never attained. There is said to be one that knew true "love" and that he was so perfect in every way that he was crucified. Maybe that's another reason we can't - fear! Food for thought -0 calories- munch up!

I believe it may be true for some people, and not for others. I know people who have never married, nor had children, and they're perfectly happy. Who knows what grief they might have had otherwise? Would the fleeting joy of love have outweighed that grief? No one will ever know.

Anyone who as ever really loved someone knows, to love someone deeply is as much a gift as being loved.....to lose the person whom you love so dearly hurts so much it feels like it should kill you, the wound goes so deep that it feels like life should stop at that moment. But as much as that hurts it is that much joy and overwhelming pleasure that love can bring....nobody should ever miss experiencing that....so yes I lost my love and I still love him deeply but I would never in a million years choose not to have experienced it. Yes it is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.

My greatest lost that i have experienced is the lost of my beloved Holy Prophet of God, The Truthful One... Prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah (saw) Yes everyday i felt that heartache, that pain, that suffering...... and to say if it is worth it is an understatement! How i miss my beloved Holy Prophet! But i will remained patient and steadfast in awaiting the last decendant of our beloved Holy Prophet (saw) and that is al Imam al Mahdi (af) as requested by our beloved Prophet (saw): " And i have not ask (ummah) except the love of my near kins (Ahlul Bayt)" May his appearance, The Imam of Time, Imam al Mahdi (af) will heal this empty heart of mine and to love him (af) as i have loved my beloved Holy Prophet (saw)... If you have never loved someone and lost them you would not understand this statement. I miss my "loved" one but the memories will last forever. I will never regret the time we had and enjoyed.

try telling that to someone who has lost a love,the pain of loss sometimes is harder than the love was good,I've seen lost love crush people to the point were they never recovered
