Some of us try to, but if I can't change them then if they want to control the world how can I change that? They don't even care to look at what is actually going on in our own country and you are right. I try to speak the truth and use justice in what I say and they fail to get it, they act like I am dumb or lying to them or trying to mess up their world in some way or something for daring to go against the propaganda in the first place. One person said something about a group of us on Q&A trying to overthrow the gov. how silly and just wrong that they are, it must be them that are off the wall on things, they don't even try to get it. So what does one do to change things? I know it starts with self first right? After that then what? One person can't fight the whole world can they?

I agree with you to a certain point. I do wish we could focus more on the problems presented to us in our own country Rather than deal with the rest of the worlds problems.
but as the saying goes:
We're dammed if we do, and we're dammed if we don't.
The United States funds, and hosts, the UN and if we were to pull our funding, or tell them to find a new headquarters, the rest of the world would hate us for it, and say we don't care about the "global community."
The world community in general has there hands out to us for money and support and if we ignore them we are terrible and selfish. So we generally try and help, some because we genuinely want the world to be a better place and if we can help we will, but some comes from pressure to "look good" to the rest of the world.
But when something terrible happens to us, and we retaliate, and ask for the support of those we have helped, we are seen as "war mongers" or "bullies" by most of the world.
In other words, we can't win. Everyone wants our help, but no one wants to help us.
We aren't seeking global dominance, well at least most of us aren't. Maybe economic dominace, but we are not intrested in creating an empire. Look what happened to Rome!

Too bad America thinks that because they are the
superior in military that they can adjust the world
by using it's military mite. President Bush said that
he will fight terrorism where it lies and are the
American people naive to think that if we did not
go into Irag that they would come to us. First of all
America needs to fix their problems at home. Yes
the foreign terrorists came on our turf and killed a
lot of innocent people, but the main reason is be-
cause America was not prepared for a defence
to stop it. America has a practice of doing some-
thing after a disaster has happened and not before
to stop it. As an american who defended this
country for 22yrs of my life in the military faithfully,
I know first hand how the government trully is.
They would not go into any war without a gaining
plan to where they would gain something from that
country and so many lives of soldiers of America
is lost. We are in an invronment in Irag where
our troops do not know how to fight a city war, as
they are trained to fight in jungles and deserts, not
in citys, and having160,000 of them in Irag and the
blood shed that continues daily proves that. So
until the government of the U:S: start taking care
of the faults in its own country and stop prying
their nose in other countries , they will always
come out a loser no matter how powerful the
military is.

I totally agree, you are absolutely right!
I am American and I'm sad to say that it's no wonder many American citizens are moving to other countries..... I'll be on my way out in 5 months as well . Don't get me wrong by the remark I just made... I love America but I hate what it now stands for.....
#1. it is no longer for the people by the people... it's for the wealthy by the wealthy
#2. Our freedoms are disappearing more every day
#3. We have homelessness and beggars
#4. higher education is mainly for the wealthy because the poor cannot afford it
#5. rapes, murder, and theft cannot be controlled
#6. cost of living is higher than the pay.
I could go on and on but we all already the issues it's just no one in power wants to address them... America is all about GREED and POWER
If there was more power of love than there is love of power there would be more peace in the world
peace to all

Americans have been unknowingly trying to conquer the world one continent at a time for about 200 years. A growing number of people have begun to realize that we are and have been a militaristic society. Most Americans don't realize that there has NEVER been a time in our nation's history when we did not have troops deployed in some other nation's lands getting into their business and not minding our own.
The biggest supporters of our invasion of Iraq to "instill democracy" are people from the South, yet they teach in their schools that the Civil War be called the Northern Aggression because the North had no right to tell the South how to run their states. Yet somehow we now have a right to tell Iraqis that they must be willing to die to overthrow their dictator and if they're not willing, we'll do the killing for them.
Of course, we only help the oppressed if there is something in it for us, like oil. Tibet has all but begged for our help in gaining independence from Chinese occupation so that they could have a democracy but alas, Tibet has no marketable resource we can use.
Many hypocritical, arrogant, ignorant cowards will now email me to say I'm un-American. Yet I say these things as a decorated and disabled veteran whose critics have never served their country.

Oh, you know, it is exactly because there are so many domestic problems in America, that politicians want to direct attention outside. Did you know that Bush's approval ratings went rocketing high when he invaded Iraq? When the whole support the troops, patriotic, us against the world thing is drummed up, suddenly everyone has to shut up and that's when domestic problems are swept under the rug.

Every one of the 9/11 terrorist muslims came from outside of America, so we are fixing the problem where the problem started, the land of the pedophile muhammad. When muslims stop being terrorists, the USA will stop hunting them down in their homeland like evil people should be hunted. We have seen what happens when we allow them to hunt us.
The first foreign enemy to attack Americans engaged in peaceful international commerce were muslim terrorist pirates. We stopped them using the only thing that works and the only thing they respect, superior military power. That was 200 years ago, and muslims seem to have forgotten what Americans will do when attacked. We are reminding them.
We are waking up and we smell the stinking jihad, and once again are stopping it.

Because Americans don't control their own government. Sure we vote but we have two choices and they are both bad. Usually we try to vote for who sucks the least.
