I have friends who do it. One week he goes on a golf vacation, and she stays home with the critters. Then she goes off for a week for some craft class somewhere and he stays with the critters and works. They always take a second vacation or long weekend together.
It works for them. But they trust each other and have a ton of respect for their marriage.

It depends on the couple really. It's neither good nor bad. Some couples don't see all that much of each other and really should plan vacations together for reconnecting with each other. Sometimes one of the couple loves to travel and teh other doesn't. I think a seperate vacation is more appropriate here. It also depends on the traveling companions. For instance, my sister traveled with me when she was married to her 1st hubby and that didn't cause any problems at all. Her current husband likes to travel, and even camp out, so it's a non-problem.
I like to fish, but the idea of going to the cabin every year would just annoy me to death. I like variety!

Very BAD idea...
Vacations are a time to renew the relationship, not
grow farther apart..
