I recently just got a female betta last Saturday. The fish had dropsy and sadly died, the whole 29 gal. has been treated and the healthy besides my Pearl danio, Zues. Zues is bloated and yesterday, Friday the 13th, he had a slight pinecone look. Today his pinecone appearence has gone away somewhat, hard to see unless your real close to him. He is currently in a 10 gal. hospital tank w/ bubbler, gravel, plant and hideout. My question is today I gave him an epsom salt bath, and it seemed to help. I was wondering how often should I give him the salt baths. The one I gave him today was in a 2.5 gallon bucket w/ a teaspoon of salt per gallon.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Also the hospital tank is being treated with Maracyn 2, and the fish is lethargic, not eating.

Epsom salt baths are great for certain problems, like fungus or parasites, but to be honest it won't really do any god for dropsy. The reason he's getting better is the Maracyn 2. Keep up the treatment for at least 14 days before returning him to your 29. Great work catching it in time to save your fish! Most people don't. Excellent job, be proud of yourself.
