I want to try selling a couple of dresses on ebay using paypal. However, I need to know information about paypal for selling. How much does it cost to use paypal to receive payments? How do you pay this? How do you get your money from paypal? How will you know when the person pays if they use paypal? I would just like some information before I jump right into it, but i can't seem to find this information on their websites.

There are 3 types of Paypal accounts. Which one do you need for occasional buying and selling?

Transaction fee is here:

And how to get money out of Paypal is here:

Basically, you register your bank account w/ Paypal, so Paypal can do a transfer to your bank account from your Paypal account. Fee was deducted when the money went in.

EDIT: Just get the personal one. Premier and business are for frequent users who want to accept credit cards directly (using PayPal as processor, setup PayPal shop, and other stuff).

EDIT: WrightSense is correct, eBay will bill you roughly monthly. If you don't pay up, your account will be suspended. You can sign up PayPal or credit card or other methods for recurring automatic or one-time payments for the fees. I was wrong earlier. Oh well, I can't be right all the time. :D

One answered said you must pay the listing fees before an item becomes active and that is not true. eBay will charge your fees to you monthly, with whatever method you set up originally (from your Paypal account, your checking account, or other credit card).

Paypal will send you an email when you receive a payment and will debit their fees from your balance at the same time. To get your funds, you can have Paypal send them to your bank or mail you a check. You'll also be able to get a debit card for your Paypal account. Read the Help screen on the Paypal website to see when that will be. Then you can access your funds from any ATM.

okay essentially if someone buys ur item on ebay and pays with paypal, it will show up on ur paypal account for the amount they have paid. that money can then be transfered to ur bank account kinda of like an electronic check. oh and ebay automicatically diredcts them to paypal so that they know they are paying the whole and correct amount. it does not cost anything to use paypal, its a free service unless u buy a subscription. so yeah 2-3 days it will take to clear their bank account and onto ur paypal account, DO NOT SHIP UNTIL THEIR PAYPAL CLEARS, u just never know and yeah so once they pay, u can transfer ur funds, what they paid u, int ur bank accoutn which usually takes another 2-3 days but well worth it okays
