which paint ????

building a pond for koi carp and putting up a pergola. what wood-stain can we use so it don,t effect the fish.? thinking about when it rains ?? don,t want to leave it un-stained

A stain shouldn't produce enough run off to be a problem, but you can find marine grade epoxies at better paint stores or boating supply places that will not have any run off from water exposure.

Check the packaging on the woodstain as they often state whether they are they are toxic to animals or fish.

Wood stains shouldn't run in the rain either.
