Quite simply ive sailed most of the world and have to go to new york in Mid May. So thought id sail it!! Makes a more interesting story than a 6 hour flight from Gatwick!

Nice Quest, I wish I had the time.

There are a few web sights that may have the information you need or direct you to it. If your experience is extensive you may even be able to ship as instructor on a training ship.

Try these:
http://tallships.sailtraining.org/
http://www.tallship.co.uk/

And of course don't forget the 'W' word: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tall_ship
You'll find the names of all modern tall ships with contacts for many and links to sites with race and event data.

Good Luck and happy sailing!
