Erm How About Tommy? or Patch? Blacky, Stripes , i have a kitten so also i am going to tell you to watch it like a a hawk because as soon as you're gone it'll jump all over...also never keep it away from its litter tray as i guarantee you it will pee on the floor even if its away for like 10 minutes!! Hope this helps!

Cats are strange animals, and you are wasting your time trying to pick a name in advance.

Once the cat is in your house you will look at the cat and just know what name to use.

I have a few "stray" cats who visit me regularly. One is completely black, and I knew the moment I saw him that he was called "blue". A fluffy queen tortoiseshell just had to be called "Bramble", and a large tabby who yowls a lot is "Chairman" (though that has a sort of logic as he reminds me of "Chairman Meow").

Cats' names do not follow any form of human logic.

Your cat will tell you it's name.

My friend named her cat Hime, pronounced He-meh. Since many people name their cats princess, it seems more unique if you called her princess in japanese.

Or if its a boy:
orange fur: Rusty, Fireheart (took that from a book about cats)
gray fur: Storm
White: Yuki, Hikari (japanese for light)
Black: Shadow, Yami (japanese for dark)

But it really depends on the cat. When you bring her/him home wait a while and see what name comes too you. Let your cat be the inspiration.

All I can think of for now, sorry ^_^

Is Wikipedia man for real?!

I really liked Trevor - that one made me laugh and can imagine standing on my doorstep calling that.
Our cat is called Dartmoor because that is where she was found abandoned. A place name like that is quite nice.

Otherwise, how about - Gilmore for a boy and Suzy for a girl
