Your Oscar has Parasites of some kind. It may be Gill flukes or anchor worms just starting. Go get some Wardley Parasite sweep it will take care of it. Also add 1 teaspoon to every 5 gal.of aquarium salt. You can introduce the parasites when you buy feeder fish, don't feed live more than 1 time a month. Wardley makes a great Chiclid Pellet food in a Purple pouch. They also have 1 called Spectramax Chiclid which is fantastic and will help color the fish but it's more expensive. Hope that answers your question, I've kept fish for 40 years. Watch your p/h with your Oscars 7.2-7.5 is good. Also do water changes every 4-6 weeks, they are prone to Hole In the Head Disease and Lateral line which is due to poor water conditions. Oscars need real clean water, that's another reason I said only feed live 1 time a month. Good luck take care of your itchy babies, the parasites make them miserable.

This is when there is a high amount of ammonia in the tank. The fish is obviously affected by it and it is twitching because its body is in seizure. This is what was happening went my oscar was twitching.
Do a test to see how much ammonia you have in your tank. Also try to move it to a tank that has no ammonia and is cycled to let it recover from the ammonia's damaging affects. After your tank is cleared up put it back in.
The second reason would be is bad nutrition what do you feed it and how many times.

If you have a heater in the tank you may want to check it too. Sometimes poorly made heaters can short out causing electricity to go through your tank. Which could electrify your fish when it kicks on. Just a thought.
