What films after a lot of hype and great expectations were a complete let down

Borat.
People kept talking about how hilarious it was. Boring!! The only funny parts were already shown in the previews on TV. I wish I hadn't wasted my time (and money) seeing it in the theaters.

The last Matrix film was awful.
Silence of the Lambs was not nearly as good as I was hyped to believe.
Star Wars Episode 3 was saved by great visuals, but Episodes 1 and 2 were so bad that even the effects didn't help.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was initially disappointing, but then I saw it again and realized it was brillliant.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either, and the series has gotten better every movie since.

The Wicker Man - too hard to follow and ended really stupid
X Men 3 - just was not like the first two and from the looks of it, there will be a fourth
Ghost Ryder - couldnt figure out if it wanted to be a comedy or a slasher movie
Miami Vice - moved too slow for me, too many subplots going on

Blair Witch. I was hyped up for that movie. Being a big horror movie fan. I was expecting the most scariest movie in a long time. Instead i sat there though it all wondering why. Why did they make this? Why isnt it scary? For the longest time i wouldnt watch a horror movie again. I had lost all faith in them all. But i got over that.

The Village--it was billed as a horror movie and was just a lame commentary on fast-paced society. It made me swear off M. Night Shamalan films.
