I boiled a couple of peices of lettuce for my molles they seem to be having trouble chewing it is there any other fresh foods that they can obtain that will encourage breeding?

Just a thought here - are you using a clip for feeding them lettuce? Something to hold it can help them take better bites. Pet stores sell clips for feeding seaweed that look like little chip bag clips with a suction cup to attach to your glass. You could also try freezing it for an hour or so or microwaving with a little water to create steam - this has the same effect as boiling (it breaks down the plant cell wall), but none of the water soluble vitamins are lost. You might also need to adjust the boiling time so the leaf becomes more tender.

Mollies can also be fed squash, other greens, peas, bloodworms, brine shrimp, flakes, and pelleted food.

Best food for breeding is a variety, so they get a good mix of nutrients.

You may just need to boil the lettuce more to get it nice in soft. Make sure you are using a more nutritous lettuce like Romaine instead of iceberg lettuce. You can also give your mollies spinach, peas and zucchini.
I'm not sure if the fresh veggies will help with breeding, but mollies aren't usually that hard to get to breed. If there tank is asuitable habitat they usually will. Make sure your tank has lots of plants in it and isn't that lit up. Good Luck.
