And Should it?
I have to admit after watching this fiasco all week I've got some serious doubts about an Obama Presidency now.

And to me at least that's sad because I really thought Obama would bring unity to this country at least thats what he's preachin.

I don't want to give Rev.Al Sharpton or Rev Jesse Jackson anymore power than they already have.
They are divisive and we have had enough of that.
So what do you think?
Feel free to comment any aspect of the Imus controversy, and yes I feel he should of apologized for the remark. The rest overkill.

miz... This isn't "about clumping people of color together" It's about politics and in that world there is a big connection.

People who are unaware of the connection... Sharpton , Jackson, Obama all Presidential candidates, they are politicians.
Imus interviewed politicians and these three politicians participated in some form in his firing I believe that would be called a connection

I wasn't planning on voting for him anyway. Never believed anything he said. Besides, I found out how he voted on a couple of issues. That really ticked me off.

Having him in office would give Sharpton and Jackson even more power than they have now. This country doesn't need that.

What Imus said was wrong, but he's apologized, and supposedly has been forgiven by the team. Let's move on.

Overkill is an understatement.

If Sharpton or Jacskon did not pick up on the remark and stir the race pot to keep their careers going...Imus's remark would have just been another stupid insult that these type entertainers do to keep their audiance. FOR GOD SAKE HE WAS AN ENTERTAINER!

Obama's statement.."The comments of Don Imus were divisive, hurtful, and offensive to Americans of all backgrounds." I have a problem with Obama .. he found no fault with Sharpton or Jackson who made this a race issue! which it was not.. and make careers out of fostering dissension and discord! That's an issue..so no vote here!

Hilary has a better chance of becoming president than Obama because we still live in a country where the people would rather a white woman become president than a black man and this is very sad. Even with all this affirmative action racism stil exists and I believe it will never end. Do you think those rednecks down south would want a black man in office. I dont think so. And to note Obama has nothing to do with Sharpton and Jackson so I don't know why his run for president is being question because of Al Sharpton. Come on people.

Obama did not stand a chance for the presidency anyway. But I don't think the Imus firing has anything to do with him being a candidate. However, we all know that America is not ready for a black President, even if he could not do any worse than the current King of the USA.

Obama had no real chance at becoming president in the next election anyway. I agree that Sharpton and Jackson cause more trouble than they ever help. I am glad to see Imus gone. He is an angry, hateful man. Now I would like to see the vulgar, profane rap and hip-hop banished from the airwaves and the language cleaned up on TV and in the movies.

It made me ill that he would associate himself with Sharpton and Jackson. And he clearly knows nothing about the issues, or is on the wrong side.

Obama is just another David Dinkins, mayor of NYC before Giuliani. I'll never vote for another David Dinkins. If you where in NYC during that time, you'll know what I mean.

What does the Imus event and Al Sharton have to do with Obama?
Please, I do not seek the link.

Unless you are stating that we still have a racial divide in America. Even in 2007, some of us, on both sides are still not able to judge someone based on the content of their mind and the content of their heart; we stillk can not get around the color thing.

That is just so sad. So evry sad,

I'm not sure it should, but I do believe it may effect Obama since plenty of people out there want to show how angry they are over Jackson's and Sharpton's abuses. They can't do anything about either of them, but then can show their displeasure with Obama.
