I am an American so I use the coffeemaker for coffee and the microwave for tea. But when we lived in England I used to do it both ways. After a while, if you keep boiling the same kettle full over and over, it starts to taste a bit flat, so then I used to dump it out and start over with fresh water. Obviously it also takes longer with a full kettle so if it was just for me or I was in a hurry I would just use enough for one cup.

A little more than required. Problem is when our kettle boils, most of the water inside is wasted as steam.
I swear there's something wrong with it. Good excuse to get a shiny new one. =D

Just enough. I dont see the point in filling it to the top its a total waste!
People dont seem to understand about energy efficiency, its not just to do with the environment, but to do with your bills and the finite resources of the earth!

I put enough in for two cups, as one is never enough. Herbal tea can be very thirst quenching!
