I can only guess, but I think the Dems would go after actual terrorists and not people hangin out, farming dirt in their own country.

Perhaps the liberal wing would make friends instead of enemies. Perhaps they would spend a bit more on foreign aid and less on weapons. Perhaps they can once again bring our budget in line.

When Bill was in the White House, he actually reduced the deficit. Now we are looking at massive deficits thanks to a knee-jerk reaction from the administration and congress. Bill did not fit the "tax and spend" mold. However, Bush did fit the "spend and spend" mindset.

I'm not optimistic that Hillary will be able to successfully return the country to a stable economic policy, but I'm willing to see if they can do some substantial reform.

I do not believe in the tooth fairy and I do not believe that there are terrorists in the world who just hate because they hate. Many of the terrorists in the world have been trained and paid directly or indirectly by the CIA. They have well-defined funds for this expensive undertaking. It's not irrational, it's very deliberate.

Unfortunately, congress has used terrorism as an excuse for too many of their bad decisions. I recommend that we all go see the movie "V for Vendetta" for some clarity about what we do not want to become.

There are many ways the Democratic party would confront terrorism here are just a few:

1. First we would pull out of Iraq. Anything that happens there will be Bush's fault, and Democrats will not be held responsible for anything that begins with the letter "I".

2. Iran is going nuclear, but that beings with the letter"I", so that makes it Bush's fault too. Democrats hereby declare themselves innocent of a nuclear Iran.

3. We will meet face to face with representatives of terrorist organizations and declare peace. The prisoners in Guantanamo will be set free if the terrorist sign the peace treaty.

4. We will commit America to a policy of peaceful co-existence with terrorist regimes. That means we will not interfere with their political aspirations if they do not interfere with ours.

5. We will normalize relations with Iran, North Korea, Cuba and other axis of evil, meaning that we will open free world commerce with these countries as long as they do not do evil things to their neighbors.

6. If any of these terrorists organizations do strike at the USA then we will have meetings with them to understand their demands and to pay respects to their feelings. We will remind them of the committment the USA has for peaceful co-existence and we will promise not to hurt their feelings again. They will be allowed to go free as long as they practice their terrorism elsewhere or against their own citizens.

7. As a last ditch attempt to fight terrorism we will pass the problems on to the United Nations who has a long history of successfully dealing with terrorists.

Well here's where we're a lelluva lot smarter than conservatives, we're the only ones who understand that a large military assault isn't feasible against a widespread ill defined enemy, I think there's a helluva lot smarter way to fight this thing but the current administration is a bunch of clueless wonders, the money we've spent in Iraq could have increased our intelligence gathering ability 4 fold, more training for elite special forces for surgical strikes against identified targets, hearts and minds campaigns including but not limited to medical aid, infrastructure construction aid,educational aid, humanitarian aid, if everything you touch that benefits you is stamped U.S.A. eventually you're going to change your perception, support for human rights including sanctioning countries that have poor human rights records like Saudi Arabia, our supposed friend, Pakistan, again a "Supposed"ally, of course this is just a the basic concept, there are many other things in line with this that would reduce terrorism, the biggest way isn't killing them, they're like rochs and we're actually helping them recruit with our current actions, they would be able to recruit far far fewer members if we did this smarter

They would try and start a "dialog" with the terrorists, which I thought was already opened with statements from the terrorists saying things like "We want the west to burn and all the infidels to die" but I guess we can start with that and just show them compassion, and show them how good the democrats hearts are, how their idiology of socialism is so good and can be a plus to the terrorists.

more seriously, Richard Clark left some good ideas. Make it a CIA/FBI lead mission with military support. Take the "war" out of it. Wars are waged between sovereign nations. Terrorists are no nation and should not be fought as if they where. There will always be terrorism. It becomes like war on poverty, war on drugs, when they are not wars at all.

Use the spy services and more covert methods to smoke out terrorist groups, instead of sending great stomping armies into countries that weren't bothering us in the first place.

Quit wasting money on stuff that doesn't work (like the Iraq war) and spend it on things that would work (like covert surveillance.)

Dialog and negotiations with people who are ordered by the highest leaders to lie to us in order to achieve the object because it will achieve 'allah's' goal.
