With the recent Imus situation, what do people think of Al Sharpton?

Does Al Sharpton owe the Duke Lacrosse players an apology now that the charges have been dropped against them?

Personally, I would never support such a hypocritical individual. I feel that he "wants his cake, and eat it too"

Please submit your opinions.....

Greasehead Al is not only a racist, but a blasphemer.

What most people don't realize is that Al Sharpton actually makes racism worse by his useless tirades. Why don't he or Jesse Jackson apologize to the Duke players? The other day I heard a mother call in on a talk show the other day and she told the host that she had trained her children that all people are created equal. Now she has malice inside because people like Al Sharpton are quick to shred someone else but do not apologize when they are wrong. Sharpton actually encourages racism because people immediately think almost anything can be interpreted as racist. This is just an incident in the big picture. Later this will be used as an excuse to outlaw talk radio because it is too offensive.

I am so glad you asked! He is nothing but a racist who got a radio show and fame for his racism toward two White police officers in NYC. He has never apologized to those guys and he said some awful things. I can imagine that nasty things he said about those Lacrosse players, too. And there have been other racist incidents.

If I were Imus there would be no way in hell I would have gone on Sharpton's show and done any apologizing! There must be other Blacks in NYC who have big audiences with their radio shows. I'd pick one of them or maybe even several and leave Al out. He's nothing but a low life racist! How dare he demand an apology from anybody for racist comments? How dare he not stay in the room with Imus as if he is better than anyone else? (Notice he left the room only when it was convenient.) How dare he claim to be a "Black Leader?" With leaders like him, who needs enemies? (I tried to be nice here.)

Question: Is there a "black leader" who white people approve of to speak on behalf of black people? It seems that whenever a "black leader" says something that a white person doesn't like the "black leader" is demonized, a hypocrite, a phony. If Don Imus can say bad things and be a good person, can't Al Sharpton? Or, is redemption only for white people? Just curious.

Also, if Al and Jesse are so evil and bad for society, why does the media always put cameras and microphones in their faces? Is the media hoping to cause controversy?

Does Al Sharpton's background make what Imus said any less vile towards the young women of Rutgers U. Basketball team? How did Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson become the news story?

Al Sharpton has mellowed over the years, but he is like a case of the clap.
I used to be afraid of Al Sharpton because I lived in the NY metropolitan area during the Tawanna Brawley time, and Al seemed bent on helping to start a race riot because of his inflammatory spewing.
I think he is not a racist, but a provacateur, an opportunist and a phoney.

Him and Jesse Jackson are idiots. Not only do they consider everything to be a racial slur/comment, but they get involved in things that they have no business getting involved in.

Don Imus was stupid for saying what he said. He's gone now, so let's move on.

The Duke LAX guys deserve apologies from a lot of people, but they were treated the way they were because they were known as troublemaking jocks in the local area.

Regardless of age, race, or social status, people in power are quick to judge any questionable behavior in hopes of being right and because it will put them in the spotlight.

Sharpton and Jackson should both make public apologies, on national television, to not only the Duke Lacrosse players but to all US citizens for them being racist bigots and stirring hatred in this country.

Sharpton should lose his radio show, as well!

Al Sharpton is an opportunist who uses white guilt to make millions. What's wrong with that? He's no different than Jesse Jackson. As long as white people are cowards and allow double standards to exist regarding race, he should punish them. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Mike Nifong hanging his career on that "sweet young black mother" and Al Sharpton.

Dear Mike Nifong: Just think you gave up a four year degree, a law license and your career to suck up to a racist like Al Sharpton! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!.

Maybe you can go back to school and get another degree in Black Studies, if affirmative action guidelines don't get in your way. Asians and white students know what I'm talking about.

I think he's the long lost brother of Don King, lol. He runs his mouth, doesn't know what he's talking about, but profits off it nonetheless.
Yes he owes them an apology. But he will never do it. But on the plus side the next time he protests something stupid and tries to make a race issue out of it, he'll be discreditied by his own community.

Sharpton, in my opinion, is like Jackson, both are "grand standers", looking for public attention. Both should be banished from this country, I feel neither has any redeeming qualities or usefulness to aid this country. I fought for my country and FREEDOM of SPEECH..They seem to want to take it away..What have they done for this country, except continue to divide it.??? I support Don Imus and ANY comments he wants to make...
