Yes, I believe you are correct in your assumption that black people can act totally ignorant and get away with it. I think it is because white America EXPECTS bad behavior from blacks, low expectations..

It was NOT wrong to fire Don Imus, he made racist and sexiest comments that where made against a Basketball Team, he did not know. He made those comments in reference to there loss to the Tennessee Lady Vol's. He took this country back 45 plus years ago, with that public comment alone. There is a line of what is correct to say and what is not and he crossed it so badly that he is now out of a job.

How many people didn't even know who he was before the complaints? I didn't...

If you don't like something, avoid it. If it's a radio or TV show, pick a different channel (there are plenty). If it's a song, don't buy the CD. Etc etc.

Now if someone gets in your face and forces themself on you that's a different story...

If people would stop complaining about these silly issues that really don't hurt anyone, we'd have so much more time, energy and money to spend on causes that help everyone rather than hurt one person or a small group of people.

Imus, Rappers, and I should be allowed to say whatever we want as long as we don't cause REAL harm. Hurt feelings don't count as harm in my book. If you're hurt that badly because of what someone said then you have far worse problems...

I asked here question in Psychology: all people else think of this Imus element is a in demand-day witch trial? i'm on no account asserting what Imus stated develop into excusable by any means. I even have in simple terms have been given ill and tired of taking a guy and stringing him over the coals. Al Sharpton is preferable a thank you to a in demand-day witch trial of Imus. i'm no longer even an Imus fan. i'm prepared on what's nice and robust approximately u . s . a . of america and that's no longer it. Justice has no longer been served. What we've here, is a guy, perchance a racist guy and sexist guy, that lives in a society full of pc haters. Whom in case you do not have self assurance how they do- overlook approximately your freedom- we could draw close you out to dry and injury your existence. i'm so ashamed of Sharpton, CBS (which who watches CBS besides) and MSNBC. All i'm asserting is that- Reverend Al Sharpton is analyzing his Bible incorrect if that's what he thinks God could want him to do.we are to forgive. Love your enemies, which means love people who've indignant you. which means take the intense street, be a greater helpful guy or woman. turn the different cheek. --------------------------------------... I watched some super stuff on Fox and additionally on the instant tutor. Sharpton and Jackson are opportunists and placing racial kin returned with their racism. additionally to make those women human beings be victims fairly of survivors weakens them. it truly is misguided to try this to them. The Sharckson duo is in simple terms taking those women human beings and utilising them as strategies of their twisted pastime. those women anybody isn't victims- the are solid women human beings that should be above this and smarter than this. The circulate to Rutgers! it rather is a prestigious college. Its all approximately forgiveness and moving on. that's some previous guy making a stupid mistake. no longer the top of the worldwide. the place has our concentration went besides. that's the main needed element we've been given? that's placing a legacy for the black community that's no longer a powerful one. i do watch what and how i say things most of the time, esp. in public forums.

although i believe hard core racism is wrong, i do have problems with infringing on someone's freedom of speech.

people on our society today get their "panties in a wad" too quick and "wear their hearts on thier sleeves" too often. this is ultimately turning today's society into sad, over sensitive, cry-baby, "pansies". not every word out of someone's mouth, etc. is going to be sugar or candy coated. and we are all still supposed to have our own opinions.

i think it is dangerous to swing public opinion about this too far to either side. we should keep it in the middle and not go to either extreme.

it was wrong to fire imus. we have double standards going here.

i dont know what the ultimate answer to all this is, but i do know that maybe it is as simple as live and let live, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you....

It was definately wrong to fire Imus. His remark may have been stupid, but it was not remotely racist. I believe that many black people would agree with me. It truly is a shame what America has turned into.

He was factually in error, at least two of the women were either white or extremely light skinned, quite a few did not have curly hair, and none of them were ho's.
Its interesting that this has become such a black on white thing, we can thank Sharpton and Jackson for setting the clock back on race relations as whites are now angry for it going so far as to deprive a man of his living and blacks are once again angry because whites 'just don't get it', which they don't since that language is apparently reserved only for black speaking about other blacks.
The whole thing was wrong because it was rude, and manners don't come in colors. But thanks to Sharpton and Jackson, it does now.

Don't worry, he'll be back on the airwaves before too long. If you believe that everything that happens in our lives is for a reason (and I do), something good will come out of this. I predict there will be an abrupt end to the recording and playing of racist lyric songs soon. Society will learn to get along together and accept who they are without demeaning people who weren't born caucasian.

The whole insult media has gotten out of control. It's bad enough when young, brash overfed rap stars and their producers 'dis' each other, black women, authority, etc.

But when establishment figures (Imus is on public airwaves, hosting public figures) start aping this ridiculous behavior, they need to be shot down IMMEDIATELY.

Maybe this will open the discussion on what is considered 'free speech' and what is considered 'slander.'

May hip-hop die a swift, ignominious death.

Yes, there's a double standard.

We get it.

A white person cannot make racially motivated comments and degrading women is wrong no matter who's saying it.

He wasn't telling the truth either. Women are not "ho's" and their hair wasn't nappy. They were rather nice looking women truth be told.
