Take the cat to the kitchen and put some butter on it's paws. Really mash it in there. Then run back to the PC it will be busy for a while licking the butter off

I agree with Easter h, your cat wants attention so if you can type with one hand pat and cuddle with the other, or pause your computer and snuggle, cuddle and chat with your cat. It won't take long before he gets annoyed because you are bugging him and he will leave you alone. If you don't do this he will also get even with you later. That is what cats do, I think they all read the same book. lol :o)

Toss his bottom outside if he is allowed outside. Did you eat something ealier that left a smell on your hands that he likes? Try washing your hands to get rid of any food smells. If he keeps it up go ahead and give him a little flick on the ear not hard enough to hurt him though.
If he's just wanting attention pet him a bit and send him on his way.

Be careful the cat doesn't get the cut one. Cat saliva can be dangerous (contrary to popular opinion)

discouraging the behaviour with a water pistol works, but you have to be consistent about it, especially the first few months....
