Why did Franck Z get a thumbs down? Pi *does* work.

sin(pi) = 0
cos(pi) = -1

So, sin(pi)+cos(pi) = -1.

pi radians = 180 degrees.

Type "sin(pi)+cos(pi)" into Google and see.
