I got punched in the head and it's starting to swell up. its on the left side, about an inch and a half up from the front of my ear. its not on the skull, but just the temple. i can feel a good sized lump. is this something to concern myself about and go to the doctor or should I wait for the swelling to go down?

Get an ice pack on the area that is swelling to reduce it. Generally swelling on the outside of the head doesn't cause damage to the brain. If the impact of the punch was enough to cause internal damage, then you could have internal swelling of the brain. If you develop a severe headache or notice your pupils aren't equal in size and reaction to light, you need to go to the emergency room for an evaluation and xray.

Put some ice on it.

You won't have a problem from swelling in tissue on the OUTSIDE of your skull. It's when the Brain swells or there is a hemotoma inside the skull that brain damage can result

Ice it 15 minutes every 90 minutes. The swelling you are experiencing is not in the skull. You'll probably get a headache as well. There should not be a major issue.

It's nothing a good orgasm won't cure.
