They, like everybody else, are entitled to wear what they like. Personally I can stand the sight of any man wearing earring or worst still, earrings.

I wear one in my left ear. I have 2 actually that I switch out. One is a very small hoop, the other is about a 1/8 K diamond, (very small). I have never had anyone complain about them, or anyone call me names, to my face anyways.
I like it, and my girlfriend says I look sexy so I really don't care what anyone else thinks or says.

Whatever make them happy. It's really hard to imagine a earring model for a guy that would be accepted by majority. What they think abut him is non of his business.

the old seamen always had left ear pearced with small ring but today both ears and hanging doesn't do a guy any favours

Yes, but there should be an age limit and also what is the point in guys wearing earrings to look cool when there is nothing else cool about them...it doesn't work.

sometimes it depends on what sort of job you have tho, but hey if there not suitable to wear at work you just take them out of course!

As long as the earrings do not look gaudy or interfere with job performance, no problems here. More than one hole in the ear looks gross though.
