It can throw you off balance as to your added weight gain and your equilibrium being a little off, plus there is the swelling of the feet at the end of pregnancy...I would think it would be too uncomfortable anyways...I cant see it hurting the baby outright, but I feel you would be putting the baby in danger as you are increasing your chances for a fall.

Wearing heels is a personal choice and it won't affect the baby unless you take a bad fall. The reason people suggest not wearing heels is because after some time, your center of gravity shifts and you become more clumsy and are more likely to trip and fall.

Also, in the last trimester your feet start to swell and you develop leg cramps. Wearing heels is not good for swollen, painful feet and legs. At any rate-they don't affect the baby, only the mother.

I don't think its bad per se, except that your center of balance is already changing making it more likely that you'll get off balance and fall in high heels. I wore Doc Martens during my first pregnancy that had about an inch or incha nd a half sole (though not solely high heels). One day I misstepped and fell, thankfully I was able to turn and land on my butt but I twisted my ankle very badly. I had to go have X-rays (double lead vested to protect the baby) and was on crutches for about a week at six months pregnant. Not fun.

You are not as "graceful" when you are pregnant so your chance of falling or twisting your ankle is much greater. If you are used to them and are careful I don't see any problem with high heels during pregnancy...just be careful.

Jillian Barbarie-Reynolds wears them every day on Good Day LA and I've yet to hear about her wiping out.

Do what's comfortable and be careful.

Your unstable (especially later in the pregnancy) and the risk of a fall is bad. High heel in and of themselves are not bad, just tripping and falling.

When your pregnant you usually gain weight quickly and you don't know how to maneuver it around as you would when you were thinner. You could wear high heels just make sure they are not like stilettos or anything like that...and be careful in them so you don't fall and hurt yourself and the baby.

the only thing is that you might get spider veins (the vein that pop out on your legs) and it's not pretty...

I recommend you not to... because of the spider veins and you'll be more comfortable
