recycling is a good topic to do a speech on? I have to do a speech in my Buisiness Writing class on Monday, and I don't know if this would be interesting. The speech can be on anything, any suggestions?

I don't know if it would be or not, but I recycle and I recycle my cans for kids to benefit the kids who are less fortunate than others to help them out and I have my son doing the same thing and he thinks it is a great idea, he is an only child and he donates his old clothing that he no longer wears or likes to the salvation army for the less fortunate. I am trying to teach him that not everyone can afford to buy new clothing some have to wear clothes from other people and it is not a bad thing to help others that it is a good thing, he actually had a kid at his school who was being picked on because he didn't have a South Pole Sweatshirt to wear instead of a jacket so my son brought him in one that he didn't wear much and it was like brand new and he gave it to him and that made the kids day. I was very proud of my son when he told me, he thought I was going to get mad but i was proud of him!

I think doing a speech on recycling is a great idea! People need to learn how important it is to recycle and all of its benefits. It is definitely a topic worth writing about and has many interesting details behind it.

I believe that recycling is a great speech topic! I mean if we didn't recycle then we wouldn't have a lot of stuff made out of recycled stuff. Like those money recycled pencils! Or those boards made out of recycled stuff! They're really good too, don't wear out easily! So go ahead and speak up for recycling!

i think that its a great topic for speech. you can debate and be opinionated and listen to what others have to say about it. if not that, then you can do a topic about something that is eye catching, that will make people think, like global warming. seeing that the earth is being polluted making holes in the ozone, and if it continues over a period of time, we'll all be toasted. something like that; you can say that recycling not only saves the trees, it saves oxygen as well. i sound like a tree hugger, but still, ur entitled to your opinion. i got an A on speech for that and i'm in 8th grade so it was kind of hard. remember-make it an attention grabber!

Yes, it's interesting. Do some research, first, but I would bet the neighbors on my block spend so much money every year just by having the truck take their blue canisters with them. They could instead, sort their own trash and recycle it themselves and make some money instead of paying the city to do it for them.

Recycling also lessens the burden of developing new oil sites for drilling since what is allready used is put back into circulation. People wouldn't need to spend as much on gas as they do since the used waste is recycled into cleaner or reusable products.

My husband changes our oil on our cars. He takes the old oil to his work and recycles it there. They have refineries just for old oil that makes some of it reusable.

Recycling is great topic...tie it in with the pollution we are facing today and the results...
We used to have three plastic containers that we shoved recyclables in and a truck would pick them up...believe it or not it is still going on in at least one small town in PA
Most people do not believe that recycling is worth it...I beleive it is...

Yes it could be. Go see if you can get a copy of the Showtime networks show called Penn & Teller's Bullsh*t! - They really gathered a whole lot of information about recycling in this country and hom much of it is really bullsh*t!
Sometimes available at video rental places and usually available online used on eBay. This way you would have the less popular viewpoint and would always be remembered!

I like your idea on recycling. This is a very important topic, and everyone can believe in it. Unlike my science class and Global Warming. I am one of two believers.

I've always wondered what do the garbage trucks REALLY do with all that recycled material. Maybe you could find out the process. I would be interested!
