I don't when this war is based on right wing war profiteering. The President doesn't want this war to end and will do anything to keep it's open-ended status. We already know the Republicans armed and trained the insurgents prior to this conflict. I don't think they have ever changed their position, or strategy of the region yet.

Resistance fighters? Oh, you mean the people who worked alongside of Hussain to ensure their security and fatness while their countrymen were being tortured and killed by Hussain? The ones who enjoyed their sense of control while Hussain was in power and who fear that they will be put on trial for their crimes against humanity if democracy prevails in Iraq? Those resistance fighters?

Yes, they ARE the enemies of the GOOD people of Iraq. They are "resistance fighters" only inasmuch as a murderer who "resists" arrest is considered a "resistance fighter."

If they are blowing their own people to pieces, no. If they choose to confront our troops, yes. And by the way, resistance to what? Freedom? Liberty? Breaking the cycle of tyranny that has been around forever? Gee, theres a tough one. An estimated 10,000 fighters hold a country of 25,000,000 hostage because they won't capitulate to religious totalitarian governance. What are these people thinking? Maybe trying freedom for a change? Ya think?

Yes they are your enemy and the need to be aggressive in fighting the War on Terror is obvious. It was the world’s opinion Iraq had or was developing WMD. Iraq was the logical next step after Afghanistan in fighting terrorism. We’re still killing Muslim extremist there who come from all over the Middle East. The war will continue until the mainstream Muslims take a stand against their extremist. A free Iraq is essential to that process.

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton.
- (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

No, they are the enemy of other Iraqis. Your nomenclature is way off as they are not resisting anything...they are "fighting" (murdering other Muslims) for POWER.

Not at all, they are heros to their own people and they are only trying to kick US forces who invaded their country illegally out which is every nations right under any law, International, religious, moral.

I think the US troops are like Hitlers troops invading small nations under the pretext to free them....

I think Bush and his cronies are the real enemy of everyone.

God bless the Iraqi resistance and I pray Bush and his cronies Go to HELL.

Anyone that points a weapon towards me with intent, sends a kid in a crowd with a vest of plastic explosives, tries to cause strife, mischief or death in the combat theater is my enemy. Name them what you will.
