I can say with complete certainty that whatever anyone else answers to this question is the complete wrong answer. Unless the band that someone else happened to think is the greatest 80s band is none other than the fantastic OPERATION IVY. Op Ivy was the utterly incredible reggae/ third wave ska/ punk band that sang and played songs about what was really going on in the world at the time.
