I am on the birth control pill and I have been for about a year now. It has never agreed with my body and it seems like ever since I started it my legs have constant ache in them. At times there are dull pains in my legs and they will go numb. Is this related to birth control? What are some other proven methods to birth control? My huband and I don't want kids at the moment but I don't want to jepordize my health either. Any tips would be most helpful, and for those who leave immature comments you really aren't proving anything. God Bless!

Hi! I know that when I was taking birth control pills to help with ovarian cysts, the doc made sure to check my legs for blot clots (and I was only 14). You might want to get that checked on just in case since that seems to be a concern with the pill.

Also, this is different, but my friend tried some type of diet pill a few years back, and started having leg aches and numbness. I told her it must be something in those pills and she stopped taking them. Awhile later, she found that she was pregnant! So she had actually been taking those pills while pregnant, which is a big no-no. Now I'm wondering if the pain was from a hormonal complication. That might be another thought since birth control pills can cause big hormonal changes.

Best wishes : )

Hello!
I hope this helps but my mom used to take a certain type of birth control that conflicted with her epilepsy medication and caused her to have blood clots... and she felt it in her leg. So I would advise seeing a doctor about that, and good luck!

You should let us know what type of birth control pill you are on.

If it hasn't agreed with your body then why have you been on it for a year?

Contact your doctor and talk to him/her about your issues.

They could put you on another brand of birth control.

See your doctor, it sounds like it could possibly be a blood clot. And it could be a side effect.
They came out with a new thing kinda like the IUD but it is plastic and shaped like an anchor, but I can't remember what it is called. Your doctor will know what it is.

Get checked out, it could be a blood clot (something very common with bc)

My husband and I use the vaginal contraceptive film. It's easy to use, you can't feel it, and I've not gotten pregnant while using it.

Try Depo Medrol injections.
or
Try condoms
or
Patches

Do you have low back pain too? That sounds like a back injury more than your BCP ....
