Only people who don't understand mathematics. Right now, the Lakers are in 7th place at 25.5 games out of first with 2 games left and a record of 40-40. The Hornets are in 10th place at 28.5 games out of first, also with 2 games left and a record of 37-43. If the Lakers lose both games and the Hornets win both games, the Lakers at 40-42 will still be ahead of the Hornets at 39-43. Of course the other two teams in contention, the Clippers and the Warriors might slip in if they win their games. But the Hornets are definitely out.

Ha ha ha!!! The guy before me is funny! Remember 81, remember 65, remember 3 rings! With Kobe, anything could happen! Lakers are in cuz they are playing 2 under .500 teams and the Clips play Suns and Worriers play Maves, thats a lose for each of them. Lakers only need to win one of there next two and the will be in the playoffs cuz they win the tie breakers! The only way the Lakers wont make it is if Clips beat the Suns and win all 3 of their games, or the Worriers beat the Maves and win all their games! The Hornets are out of it, and they suck.

It's possible and those people aren't jerks. They're die hard Hornets fans. You're the jerk for not considering the Hornets when they can beat the Lakers out for the playoffs. A healthy Hornets team would beat the Lakers any day of the year.

No. The Hornets would have to go perfect and have the California teams all lose their final games to make it. They will make it next year if their team is healthy. The organization has a good core and should make a run next year.

Also: to that guy up there who says it's retarded to let Kobe shoot 40 times. How else would the Lakers win? Lamar's too afraid to attack on a consistent basis and the rest of the Lakers just kills clock and then passes it to Kobe with 4 seconds remaining on the shotclock.

The hornets will not make the playoffs. They have tough road games still. The Lakers have a home game against the sonics which they will win, and they will get momentum into the playoffs by beating the kings in sacramento.

Its not going to happen, maybe the Clippers and GSW, could both past the Lakers, because they are only a half game difference....even if the hornets won every one of their last games, they still couldn't get in, 2 1/2 games is to far behind
