It doesn't affect your tan whatsoever, unless it's a spray tan. There's no way to keep your tan longer, just take care of your skin. Tanning damages your skin.

You should wait a couple hours to give your skin a rest. Put some lotion on right after you tan though, something with aloe vera and vitamin E in it. Moist skin will hold a tan longer. When you do take a shower, make sure it's not hot, just lukewarm.

If you're using a tanning bed and lotion, then it depends on what kind of lotion you are using. If you're using a bronzer, you probably shouldn't shower for a few hours because the tan can actually wash off. As for keeping your tan longer, always use an "after tanning" moisturizer. You can usually find them at your tanning salon. I prefer hemp based moisturizers, they seem to work best for me.

You can't wash off the tan. It's good to take a shower because you probably sweat a bit in the tanning booth.

If you got a spray on tan the you are not supposed to shower for 24 hrs........but if it is a tanning booth then you should be fine..it is better to ask the people that work there. If you get a spray on or sunless tan ask the person doing it. If you are doing it urself wait a couple of hrs. To get it to last longer....you cna find some stuff....if you're sunbathing or doing it by booth I have heard you cna use aloe vera gel. And by a spray or sunless I do not know...

Yes, you can shower right after tanning and your tan will fade. You have to keep tanning for it to last longer

no. It's bad to go around smelling like you've been tanning.

It's bad to "go tanning" - but you probably won't believe that until doctors start cutting cancer out of your face like they did to mine - just FYI The exact quote from the Derm: "It's not the kind of cancer that kills you...it just eats your face".
