So much furor over Imus' stupid off-hand comment...why isn't anyone screaming about Louis Farrakhan?

Check out his quotes against Jews, whites, government, gays, says whites intentionally bombed the levee during Katrina to kill blacks, etc. http://www.adl.org/special_reports/farrakhan_own_words2/on_whites.asp

Sharpton and Jackson back his hateful speech but are against Imus?? http://www.adl.org/PresRele/NatIsl_81/4707_12.htm

I agree that there does seem to be a double-standard in America, but remember that The Arsenio Hall Show was essentially doomed after he decided to have Louis Farrakhan on his show who turned affiliates, advertisers and some viewers off. The show never recovered after that.

Exactly. And all of the Rap "artists" and the Black comedians?

So, Imus, an idiot who for years has offended everyone, is now in a pit of boiling tar for his stupid comment. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are grilling him and throwing a fit.

How come the two Rev's don't have the same distain for the Rap "artists"? This music is loaded with slurs, advocates violence upon women, celebrates drug use and criminal activity.

Wouldn't it seem that if the Rev's really cared about the community and wanted to end the inner city plight, they would go after the medium that has a wide audience and not worry about what a has been DJ is spewing?

Hate mongers like Farrakhan are protected by free speech and he also does not have a network program. I am assuming that Sharpton and Jackson will next support the dropping of rappers by their labels since their language is much worse than anything Imus has said.

I agree with you 100%. I would put Sharpton and Jackson on a boat and ship them back to Africa. As far as Farrakhan is concerned I would shoot him in the....you know where.

Yes it seems to me that the only people who are not allowed to make racist remarks are whites.
