Can anyone reccommend a good treatment that I can purchase in quantity without spending a fortune. I used little tubs last year 'cuprinol' and by the time I'd finished it had cost a fortune.

Yeah it is. "Deck" is a four-letter work and means sucks up money, pain in the butt to maintain. I only use Penofin. UV is a big problem so I get the higher grade. Of course it means taking out a mortgage to pay for the stuff, but it lasts longer than anything else I've found.

There's a new deck cleaner called OxiWood I'd like to try next year when it's time to bow down to the deck gods again.

Cuprinol is a top of the range name with all the advertising and sales overheads to include in it's price. Go for a B&Q or Travis Perkins own label product that does the same, it will be half the price.

Which is cheaper, preserving the wood on your deck or replacing the planks next year because you cheaped out on keeping it up?

Take a shortcut and take a shortcut in the life of your deck.
