okay, to the girl who described putin as a "cancer."... you really need to stop talking about things you do not know about, and you best not talk like that in front of a russian citizen because you will be slapped. putin is a very respected man. he has brought russia out of a great economic depression caused by the yeltsin adminsitration. and you are right, there is nothing wrong with russia and that is why the many countries that wanted out of the ussr so bad desperately want back. they thought that they were going to be "independent," but russia was still supposed to keep their oil lines in and help their economies, lol! without russia, they are becoming so poor. they will be so lucky if that "sly devil" putin LETS them back in

but anyways, america has to watch countries like russia because while it is sinking further & further into depression/inflation (which many americans refuse to believe), they are slowly growing stronger, improving their economies and forming alliances. but all countries watch each other. it keeps them from going out of line and planning some hitleresque takeover of the world, you know?

I don't think the U.S. is as concerned with Russia as they are with North Korea and Iran. However, from what I've observed of Putin these last few years, I, myself, don't trust Putin as far as I can throw him. He, himself, IS the USSR disguised as a "friendly" leader.

As Solzhenitsyn once said... Russia is like a man. Nothing wrong with Russia. The USSR is like a cancer on that man. The cancer is bad, not the man.

Putin is the cancer... and if anyone is watching in Russia's direction, it isn't the Russian people being watched, it's that sly devil, Putin.

Despite the breakup of the USSR, Russia still has nuclear capacity and diplomatic ties with its neighbors.
Diplomacy isn't something the USA has always succeeded with.

The same reason Russia watches the US. Every country watches every other country, to think any does not is to be willfully blind to the truth.

Because George stared Putin right dead in the eye and he can tell without him signing anything , he is a man of his word. Let me tell anytime George Bush's mind can look someone in the eye and tell you what a good man he is, you better be watching them , cause Chimpy's eyes are blinded by his ignorance.

Information control. When a society such as theirs suffers collapse their people become desparate. Information is worth money. Russia is mostly mofia controlled now and we have communication with them via internet and in person.
