Howard Stern has his sidekick, Robin Quivers, to give him cover. Ann Coulter has a loyal right wing fan base and Fox News.

Stern is an azzhole. He's always exploited women. I put up with a lot but he's horrible.
I think Imus won't yell Freedom of Speech cause he really does hurt from this. On the other hand I do think that he should go after Sharpton though. That "thing" is useless and annoying. He is just a big windbag. Somebody should pop his bubble. He too should be called on his actions.
As far as the b-team? They are martyrs. The should have been happy enough to have made it as far as they did. That alone is an accomplishment. They didn't have to blame someone else for their loses. I wonder what kind of names they called Imus when they got the news? I'm sure there were some special "labels" being thrown around then.

Its just another double standard...Ann Coulter survives cause she's a woman...I've been asking the same about Howard Stern on here...Been suspended but never fired, and he is 100 times more offensive than Imus...He is on satellite now because he kept getting fined...and the gov't. can't regulate satellite radio...Imus will probably wind up there...On XM though, cause of Stern's big contract on Sirius...Imus could probably sue Sharpton and Jackson for slander...God knows I would...because he lost his job because of them...but then, I guess that would open the door for Rutgers to sue Imus...ONE stupid comment in over 30 years...

Because gay folks and whoever else they decide to the same thing to don't throw a huge fit, and invite a media circus (or a veritable entourage with cameras as it is in this case) to monitor them. The Rutgers team made more out of it than was there, and then made it their first priority to milk the situation for all that it could possibly pay off. When that happens the parent company or employers of whoever is the main instigator of the ruckus needs to pander to whoever is making a big reactionary fuss about it. They fired Imus, b/c Rutgers seized an opportunity for a free PR joy ride, and NBC needed to save their skins and cut their loss before it did damage. The Rutgers team are just as bad, but for different reasons, as Imus. They're just opportunistic media whores who only caught wind of the situation b/c someone else relayed the info to them. This wasn't their tragedy, or something that was horrible for them, this was their golden ticket, it let them get a lot more attention than they deserved from a lot more people than they should have. If you're gonna get attention, you should have to earn it, they didn't, but they'll continue for a little while longer before it all fizzles out.

If Imus had stuck by his 1st Amend right to say what he wants, he wouldn't have necessarily been fired as quickly. That's what Howard and Ann do -- and they still have jobs. The problem is: 1) Imus was a total dirt bag because he was bigoted; 2) Imust was a total dirt bag because he didn't stand up for his 1st Amend rights. If he'd have at least stood by his comments (as having a right to say them) then he wouldn't be ALL bad. As it is now, he's done the wrong thing twice.

Howard Stern is not anti-anyone other than people that hate. He and others on his show may say some dirty things but since he is on satellite now, it doesn't matter. He can say whatver he wants because satellite isn't regulated like terrestrial radio.

Oh wait- he is anti-Imus..

BTW, if Sirius and XM merge, Imus will be out of satellite too because the CEO and Stern hate Imus (which they should, he is a loser that can't even hardly talk- and a crybaby).

Howard Stern is on satellite radio, he can say anything he wants. My concern is how overblown this became. One of the basketball players said she "...was scarred for life." over this. BULLSH*T!!! I am sick of this. Get over it. Some 90 year old moron made a stupid comment. Move on with your life. The rest of us have. Idiots.
