I say Kevin Martin of the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 10.8 last year, now he's averaging 21.1. although if you were watching TNT's Inside the NBA the didn't even mention his name.

Kevin Martin is the most improved player by far. i don´t know what happens with these people of tnt, they don´t know what they`re saying. The same happens with Shawn marion, he is the most underrated player of the NBA and look at his stats!!!
The same happens with Martin.

Kevin Martin is a good choice, but how about Tyson Chandler. This guy is playing beast like now. He has improved so much and is starting to look like the dominating player he was in highschool.

However, Monta Ellis is the most improved player. He will win the award in my opinion.

I agree with you that Kevin Martin has indeed improved since last year, but if you look at his stats, he hasnt improved in much else. I think the Most Improved Player of the year usually goes to one that just completely turns out to be a phenomenal player after a summer of hard work. Look at Boris Diaw, last year's winner . his stats just jumped (even though Amare's injury had something to do with it) he just took over Phoenix Suns' frontcourt...

Having said that, I think Luke Walton should be the most improved player of the year. kevin martin will definitely be a nominee, and maybe finish 2nd place in the voting. Matt Barnes from the Golden State Warriors in another nominee.

I am a huge kings fan... well I live in sac... Martin has made a big case why he is the Most Improved Player of the Year...

But I personally think is will be Deron Williams... just like how Nash is a pivitol part of the Suns, the Jazz would not have been who they are this year without the improved play of Deron Williams...

But it will be a truly truly close race... it could definitely go either way... but it is a team sport and a players play should make the team better and the record is the proof of that so I would give it to Deron Williams...

Kevin Martin Stats...
Last Year: 48 fg%, 84.7 ft% 10.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.4 apg, 0.8 spg, 0.1 bpg, 0.9 made 3pt, 36.9 3pt%
This Year: 47.6 fg% 84.5 ft%, 20.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg, 0.1 bpg, 1.3 made 3pt, 38.5 3pt%

only thing that really went up was his points, threes made, and 3 point %...

Deron Williams Stats:
Last Year: 42.1 fg%, 70.1 ft%, 10.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.5 apg, 0.8 spg, 0.2 bpg, 1.1 made 3pt, 41.6 3pt%
This Year: 45.8 fg% 77.1 ft%, 16.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 9.8 apg, 1.0 spg, 0.2 bpg, 1.1 made 3pt, 32.7 3pt%

He has pretty much upped all his number except the last three...

I think the reason Kevin Martin hasn't been mentioned is because his team hasn't played well... and he has only improved he Point totals...

if you think about it kevin martin did pretty well at the 2nd half of last season and technically shouldnt be considered most improved because he already improved during last year. now monta ellis came out of no where and surprised everyone except warriors fans. whats kevin martins team doing? nothing, they suck. at least ellis's team is playing for something and can get into the playoffs and ellis wasnt even a first rounder like martin.

The thing about Kevin Martin is that whenever he got time last year, that is what he did. Eddy Curry might win it. Barbosa is another good choice
