Subtle, small steps are being taken. documentaries like "Supersize Me", KFC & Taco Bell are going to be cooking with oil that won't give you a heart attack, and there are school s and colleges around America that are making healthier menus than the conventional "Tater Tots & Fiestadas" (I used to love those Fiestadas!) Also... gastric bypass surgery which is actually causing people to become alcoholics, studies have shown....ask Carnie Wilson.

With all of this, I think that there should be more done. It is a bit odd to see a World Gym next to a McDonalds... maybe better building planning and free Gyms on every block or Scholarships and rewards to those who get certified or major in Nutrition or Physical Fitness?

Not well enough. Too much advertising of fast-foods. Peer-pressure from other kids in schools doesn't help much either, even though some schools are offering a healthier menu in cafeterias.
Same thing is happening more in Canada and the UK.

Here is an organization, Fit Kids Coalition, that is trying to help fight child obesity. I think that we all need to try to do our part. Encourage others to eat healthy and exercise regularly.

It's getting better. More and more insurance companies are covering weight reduction surgery, and taking it serious. They use to think WLS was for cosmetic reasons.

I think we're all going to eat ourselves to death. There'll be the 12 skinny people who don't ever gain weight left, and they can rule the world.
