It seriously does.

I mean, was that 'supposed' to hearken back to the Nazi "Fatherland"? Because it does, and everyone knows that it does.

And the Republican Government knew it would, and used the name anyway. What does that tell you?

Yes, it most certainly does.

Very reminiscent of "mother Russia" and "the fureur".

On of the defining traits of fascisim is a strong, almost compulsory form of patriotism. This allows for the preception of "we can do no wrong", i.e. unquestioning loyalty.

It all goes downhill from there. Fortunately, it seems we have not fallen to far yet and there seems to be a rising tide of people who are "waking up".

We'll see what the next election holds.

The Germans have a fatherland
The English have Mother England
We have Uncle Sam so it should be uncleland, but that would sound chicken, and internal security would be even creepier. Just be happy they did not name it the Department of Freedom
