Could be the start of fin rot. Usually ammonia poisoning will turn the fins black not red Fin rot caused by poor water conditions and feeding (generally) is easily treated when caught in early stages.

Check your water quality. If the ammonia and nitrates are low, I would be more incline to think it is fin rot and needs to be treated with meds. .

It could be any one of several things. Ammonia or nitrite poisoning is a possibility. Test your water if possible and change it if needed. If you can't test the water, change about half just to be sure.

The fish could also have a bacteria infection such as fin rot or septicemia. If the water change doesn't help in a few days, you will need to treat the tank with antibiotics. Maracyn is a good choice for fin rot. Maracyn 2 for a septicemic or blood infection.

Usually indicates bad water due to lack of proper tank maintenence. Goldfish need 10 gallons per fish and their water needs to be changed weekly. (at least 25%)

Probably a bacterial infection or parasite, treat it with the right medicine.

YOUR GOLDFISH HAS AN BACTERIAL INFECTION CAUSED BY POOR WATER CONDITIONS. THERE MIGHT BE AMMONIA OR NITRITE IN WATER. IMPROVING WATER CONDITIONS MIGHT HELP . IF IT DOESN'T YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE YOUR GOLDFISH TO THE VET. HE COULD HAVE A SEVERE BACTERIAL INFECTION.

It has a disease or something. It could be velvet. Find out what it is and medicate it.
