Well, good ol' Sunshine was born in 1949. My first memories of rock n' roll were The Everly Brothers and ELVIS. PSYCHEDELIC COLORS and such, were way off in the future.
I loved the 50's!! While I was watching Gunsmoke and wearing my Davy Crockett outfit ( which I STILL have) teenagers were going to sock hops and wearing poodle skirts!! DOO WOP started appearing in songs, such as "In the Still of the Night (I Remember)" by The Five Satins. Rock n' roll was taking off!!!!! As you know, POODLE SKIRTS HAVE DISAPPEARED, but every once in a while someone will have a 50's themed party, and out come those jewels from the past !!!
AFTER THE 50's, rock n' roll was still going strong. In 1960, CHUBBY CHECKER popularized a brand new dance....THE TWIST. It was a great time to be a kid !!Everyone, everywhere was doing it!!
Then when I was just about to turn 15, I happened to turn on "The Jack Paar Show, one night. THE BEATLES were in a clip. I couldn't believe the length of their hair....which truely was not THAT long. I yelled for my sister to come and look at it with me. I remember this clearly. This was before they appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show." In between Sullivan shows, the Beatles had their first American concert, in Washington,D.C. It was snowing, and they came to town on the train. I went to that concert !!! I screamed so hard for so long that it is amazing I have a voice, 43 years later!
You had to be alive then to understand the impact of the Beatles !! It was UNREAL!!! They were in the papers every day...really !
The Beatles revolutionized the world of music and fashion....basically they changed the entire world !!! Now, anything that was different, was in !! MINI SKIRTS,GO-GO BOOTS,BELL BOTTOMS and long hair......these were hip !!
I remember this one man telling me how happy he was to be around during the time of the mini skirt!!! Then came the maxi skirt......most kids of today probably never heard of the maxi.
In conclusion. I merely want to add that I consider myself very lucky to be born when I was......I grew up in a marvelous time. From "Howdy Doody" to "Gunsmoke," with my darling Marshal Matt Dillon♥ , to the Mickey Mouse Club(the ORIGINAL) to Elvis,The Twist,President Kennedy.....and right after his assassination.....the Beatles conquered the world and healed our wounds.
I leave you with 2 clips.

Kayboff, my imagination could fit in a thimble so I'm not even gonna try this one. But I have a question for you. What the heck are poodle skirts? Did they have another name? I grew up in the 60s and I remember everything you listed except poodle skirts. Maybe that was when I was in Nam. We didn't get a lot of the latest fashions and trends over there.
