For those of you who work and don't know what the hell I'm talking about, they get money back for NOT paying taxes.

Don't fool yourself...liberals make up most of the creative industries that the USA still dominates the world in such as Hollywood, software, and the computer technology sectors. We generate the wealth of this nation...I will give you the oil business, you guys are making a boatload of money screwing the rest of the country in that trade.

I forgot....Also We liberals, also make up the majority of the professors, graduate students and researchers in the University system, we develop the technology that keeps this country on top. So go back to your cubical and go sell some more mortgages to the other conservatives who have too much credit card debt.

Funny that that would be the thing that bothers you, and not the number of people whose pensions we taxpayers are taking over because their companies decided that they'd rather pay dividends to stockholders than fulfill their contractual obligations to their employees, or the billion$ that huge companies are not paying in taxes by virtue of having a mailbox in the Bahamas be the address for their company whose headquarters are still in the US.

I guess you'd rather have them NOT work, so you could rail against food stamps and welfare, but since that has been changing since Clinton's presidency, this is all you have left.

Poor, poor, angry con!

My husband works about 50 hours a week and we got one. He has had the same job for almost 9 years, we do not get government assistance, we pay taxes and are fairly liberal.

EIC has nothing to do with not working enough to pay taxes. And you don't get more money for having a slew of kids either, 2 kids max are counted. You also don't get EIC if your source of income is public assistance benefits. In other words, you have to actually have a job to get EIC.

Come on, now. Any head of household making under $30k (or so) annually qualifies for EIC, assuming they have the requisite dependents.

As a single mom, I have nearly always qualified, and it helped while I was building my law practice.

For the first 2 years of my law practice, when we were eating pork and beans, I got it.

Perhaps you think we should have been on welfare, instead?

Wouldn't it be great if Internet access was considered a basic human right and ALL poor people could post here? Wouldn't that be democracy in action?

An alarming amount.

Living in their parents basement, unemployed arguing who hates Bush more and thinking of new conspiracies.
