I dont care how good his politics are, at this time of war against these idiots, I cant bring myself to vote for a muslim name. He is a good person, I just wish he had a different name.

I think it is disturbing - especially the fact that he also attended Muslim schools/meetings in Jakarta, Indonesia while growing up during his formative years.

Yes, he does have a bad name. He went by Barry Obama in high school, which is what he should have kept. But I don't think it will matter. Now if his name were Muhammed, that would be a different story. But I don't think Barack is enough of a Muslim name. His name wouldn't affect my voting, though it will affect others, especially those who don't really pay attention to the race, but just show up on voting day.

If you looked hard enough, you could find a Muslim named O'relly somewhere. What's in a name. Remember the American Taliban fighter who was captured in Afghanistan? His name is John Walker. So again, what's in a name?
And it took a lot of ignorance about Islam and the Muslims to get us knee deep in the quagmire in Iraq. Did you have anything to do with planning this little nightmare?

Suppose you were running for president and that was your name. Would you want people to discriminate against you just because of your name.
I have nothing but respect for Barrack Obama. If it makes you feel better his ancestors on his mother's side fought in the revolutionary war. How long has your family been in this country?

By "Muslim name" do you mean any name that sounds Middle Eastern? I would make it a point to vote for such a candidate. I think the racism in this country is disgusting.

Seeing a question like this makes me think this country should consider a maditory I.Q. test for the right to vote.

Anyone who bases their vote over something as superficial as the candidate's name is an utter idiot.

What does a muslim name have to do with anything? It has nothing to do with their social/political abilities. They are American like you. I have an English name doesn't mean I'm less German now.

You ask that as if voting for somebody with that type of name is worse than voting for somebody who's last name is also slang for female pubic hair.

I think your reasoning abilities may be common for the American electorate. That is why we have Bush for President. Your reasoning is one dimensional.
