Many babies have been injured or even killed because their parents couldn't stand to hear them crying. Would it have been better for them to put them in a soundproof room, or does that constitute child abuse? I'm not interested in a discussion about the practicalities of building or affording a soundproof room, I'm only interested in the concept of a soundproof room and whether that is acceptable.

i dont think ther is anything wrong with it if the parents have a baby monitor, that way, the child is not disturbed by the sounds of the outside world, and if the parents are doing 'controlled crying' ( a method of teaching your baby to get to sleep without your constant attention, by allowing them to cry for a short while, so they learn they are safe without you, and that youll come back) they can get a bit more peace!

however, this could be easily abused by bad parents, who would use it as an excuse to ignore the child, and may even miss the NORMALLY OBVIOUS SIGNS IF THEIR CHILD BECAME ILL OR INJURED THEM SELVES.

i didnt mean 2 do that bit in capitals, but i cant b arsed 2 chang it now. lol

Why even have a child if you want to stick him away in a soundproof room? I think its child abuse to have a parent that suggests this sort of thing!!!

If parents have issues relating to the child, then they should seek professional help.

Babies have many needs, and hiding them away is not the answer. Love your children, learn from them.......

NO..you can not put a baby in a soundproof room. How would you like it, if someone shut you away where no one could hear you, especially if you were in pain or needed something. I dont know anyone could even think of asking a question like that.

Crying is what babies do and you know that be for you have them,if you can't cope with it then it's time to let someone else take over starting with family member and go from there ,no need to abuse something that can't take care of there self or anybody for that matter.

Can the oldest 2 proportion? Can the little one sleep to your room in view that it is a new little one? You surely do what you need to do. It's simply difficult for little one and the older one whilst little one wakes up plenty within the night time. Good good fortune with promoting the residence!
