No. I am amazed at the success of these scammers. The Nigerians found the perfect "Button" to push (Greed) and have reaped billions of dollars.
Actually Nigeria is no longer the capital for this scam. The Nigerian government started a serious crackdown on them and has recovered over $750 million from the scammers. Many who operated in Nigeria have moved to neighboring countries where corrupt and lax governments allow them to operate.
All the Nigerian government has done to stop this scam will not erase the stigma associated with it. This scam, no matter what country it comes from, will always be known as the Nigerian 419.
