why can't you admit we are fighting these terrorists and horrible, horrible suicide bombers? You keep trying to prove that the 9/11 terrorits were Saudis and have nothing even too do with why we are in IRAQ. Which even if those terrorists were Saudis, many of these horrific bombers are using vulnerable IRAQ as a front for a battle ground? So before you try to answer with your smart remarks please respond intelligently.

They weren't using Iraq as a frontline until we got there.

Not all US citizens feel this way. Unfortunately, the media capitalizes on the many that DO, and conveniently ignores those of us that are in support of of America's involvement with Iraq. It is heartbreaking each time I hear of a loss that an American family has suffered due to this war. However, the media makes it sound as if we are "spinning our wheels" over there, where in FACT our troops are making a true difference to the Iraqi people, especially the women and children. For this, the US military deserves our complete support and respect! Not our "smart remarks" as you so correctly stated.

Well Mikey, The US is in Iraq because Multinational (notice I didn't say US) Oil Companies want control of the Iraqi oil fields. Also the US wants a foothold in the middle east for security reasons. It would be much easier to attack terrost groups or other countries in other parts of the Middle East if we have bases in the region. I doubt there was any connection between the 9/11 terrosts and Iraq but since Saddam was such a ******** he was a good a target as any. Personally I think we should take out Saudi Arabia. That is where so many of the fanatics hole up. Heck, we should have invaded Pakistan. But their government somewhat got the message from the invasion of Afganistan.

Where is the proof that these terrorists came from
Irag, other than Bush saying so. As an ex-soldier
who fought in combat, the enemy isn't always
where one says they are and we are sent out to
look for them. The sad story is many of us do not
come back and the war is lost. We lost the Viet-
nam war and 58000 american soldiers were killed,
now we are in Irag loosing with over 3000 ameri-
can soldiers killed. If we stayed at home and pre-
pared for our home defence then we would never
have to go abroad as our defence would stop any
terroist acts within our turf. So many people just
think that it's fighting terror but it's a whole different
story that the government does not talk about.

Because, closed minded people cannot fathom that it is all part of the same battle. They think that if we don't bother them, they won't bother us. Newsflash: 9/11/01 did happen and over 2000 innocent American were murdered. We are not the bad guy, we are trying to prevent it from happening again, and thank God we have a President who doesn't bow to the polls, like the last one did. He actually has principals and morals and he stands up for what he believes. He may not be perfect, but he is willing to do what he thinks is best to PROTECT the American people. To those of you who think it is a different war............if we surrender, like the liberal democrats want us to, I hope you are ready for many more 9/11's. It wasn't the first attack on our country....it is just the first one that we responded to with a proactive instead of reactive actions. Have you thought about the fact that there has not been another terrorist attack on our soil since........wonder why? You may have to actually use your brain to think about this one. By the way, great question.

It is ONLY the misinformed and mislead Americans that deny the truth. The link below is the historical document, approved by congress, giving all of the reasons why we are in Iraq. Obviously some Americans can't read or fail to read it because it doesn't meet with their agenda.

I have a news flash for you. The 9/11 hijackers WERE Saudis. We are not at war with Iraq. we are at war with insurgents FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. We are at war because of OIL. The ultimate cause of our conflict with the ME boils down to economics. The terrorists are an aside that keeps our attention off of the real reasons. Do you really believe that we do not have the resources to annililate the ME? But that would screw up the flow of oil.

The question is quite scattered and hard to understand but I will give it a shot; even though you apparently have already made up your mind about the situation.

Saddam was basically limited in his movements in his own country. He was isolated and embargoed and only able to mess with his own people. His involvement with international terrorism was minimal (especially compared to say, Yemin, Syria, N. Korea etc etc).

True he did have WMD, they were mostly biological and not a direct threat to the US or our interests.

Prior to the current incursion, there weren't any insurgents in Iraq because Saddam was one mean SOB dictator. The insurgents showed up due to the war. I imagine these same insurgents would have happily gone to Afghanistan to blow themselves up and this could have been contained in one country with maybe some spillover into the tribal areas of Pakistan.

Your statement after your question makes no sense because it is poorly written.

We are in Iraq because our president wanted us to be there. You'll have to ask him why. Nobody questioned our involvement in Afghanistan and still still don't. Iraq is a mess as it was predicted it would be. Nothing is being accomplised there because the US is trying to install a Democracy in a country that doesn't want it. They want to rule it the way they always have, by force. Is it any wonder Saddam was so brutal? That is all those cave men understand. I say nuke em and give em something to complain about.
