The calculation that you should always use to find % change is...

(Ending Sales - Beginning Sales) / Beginning Sales
Then you multiply your answer by 100 to get your % change

(80 - 12) / 12
68/12 = 5.66666666667
5.666666667 x 100 = 566.666667% increase

You can actually use this equation when finding the % increase or decrease in anything.

80-12= 68
68/12=5.666666666666667
5.6667*100=566.7%

To find percent increase or decrease, you first find the amount of change. Then, you divide the difference by the original number. Once you get that, you multiply it by 100 to get a percent.
