I think that the best thing to do is to come right out and ask him. If he tells you that he doesn't want to be your friend anymore than you will know for sure. Then it would be best to let him go. However It may only be a misunderstanding. I remember way back when I was 22 I called a friend to go to the ballgame with me. After the game he asked me if I thought it was strange that he hadn't called me in over 6 months. When I told him that I thought it was he told me that he was going to be a doctor while I was in school to become a graphic artist. He had made up his mind to only associate with doctors and medical students. I pleaded with him that we had been friends for over 21 years- practically from birth. He told me that just because we had been friends for the last 21 years that doesn't mean we had to be friends for the next 21 years. He had an answer for everything I said. Then he shook hands with me. I'm sure he thought that he was being subtle and fair minded for taking the trouble to explain it to me. But if that's the way he is than he was doing me a favor in a way that he hadn't intended. Because he only convinced me that he was a jerk. But I would come right out and discuss it with your friend to find out where you stand with him. I hope this has been a help to you.
