it doesn't matter if the terrorists in 9/11 were not Iraqis my point is that all the horrific suicide bombers today are from many or any middle eastern countries, men or woman, so this is what the US is fighting, don't you get it? Well, the middle east has many countries, with different agendas. The 9/11 hijackers were not Iraqi and the American troops are now in Iraq, so from the point of view of Iraqis Americans can be seen as occupiers (even though the US soldiers don't think of themselves that way).
It's not really clear what the US is doing in Iraq in the first place - we didn't go after Saudi Arabia, which would have seemed like a more obvious target (even though we did go after parts of Afghanistan).
If you do just a little research (even on the Web) you'll discover the war in Iraq was not the best idea for the US - and now the US soldiers are stuck there in the middle of a growing civil war. It's really sad.

This is a small planet. But the interest are all the same, whether you are muslim or american. Everyone wants to get ahead in this world. Sorry. i don't believe religion gets to out rule profits. Bottom line, every season ends and the family must survive. How does humans survive? Well don't they put things away? save or invest into their future?
If you divide people into countries/territories or by religion. what keeps them in groups or categories like these, is what their common goals are.... like a school of fish. They huddle together, to minimize their loss of life and maximize their survival. Humans have the same instincts. Americans are in Iraq for their interests, Oil and profit. Profit from rebuilding the country from ruin. And to Oil to pay for the destruction of that country. America has been doing this since the first world war and the British have been doing this ever since they were GREAT!

To those first two people who answered you......the insurgents, most of them, are not "Iraqis". They are the terrorists who want to occupy Iraq so they can make it a terrorist state like Afghanistan was before 9/11. To answer the question, because they want to be the true "occupiers." They will not allow the Iraqi's to live in freedom as our brave soldiers are doing. I just love all of these people who think that they can continue to be free without being proactive and defending themselves.........the terrorist does not care if you are for or against the war-----they want all of us dead.
