I am from the 60's, lived the 70's, endured the 80's, but the "Black Hole Sun" video by Soundgarden seems to bring these altogether in a night-marish, non-nihilistic view of The Rapture. Gives me a creepy feeling, but maybe there's a strong message in there for everyone to think about. Chris Cornell starts out singing alone, then is joined by his band, and they're always looking up. The music is inspired and really takes you somewhere. In The Great Rock Discography, 7th edition, by Martin Strong, he describes this song, "Constructed around a head-spinning foundation of acid-drenched retro-rock and JIM MORRISON-esque doom, "Black Hole Sun" stands as one of their most realised pieces of warped psychedelia to date." The video syncs with the song better than most, in a way that makes it a more complete song.
