I predict that Imus will becoming back big (i.e. after the Sirius and XM merger or to some other radio station) and will want to get some retribution.

I think he may be a big factor for the Presidential Race in 2008.

I think he feels betrayed. He saw how easily his employers bowed down to Sharpton, Jackson, and Advertisers.
He is mad because MSNBC and CBS fostered his consistent rampage for years and now... the managment suddenly seen the light?!!!!....and no one else from their management was terminated?!!!

Imus will probaly not be to happy about Obama...and will be slanted against him. People will be turned off from Obama mainly because of guilt by association with Sharpton and Jackson.

People will be watching Jackson and Sharpton like a hawk...to ensure they continue their crusade against the music industry. They are walking on egg shells for a very long time.
They slip...people will be on top of them like flies on $hit.

ITA. Obama made a mistake for sure in jumping in the Sharpton mob train . Imus core fans are the moderates on both sides of the aisle and independents who are politically interested, exactly those swing votes Obama needs.

It certainly hurts him greatly in my rankings of who I might support.

I don't know if he'll come back. He's pretty old and has had health problems and history of drugs and booze. He could drop dead any time. He should retire.

I believe that he should have be able to say what was on his mind. He apologized for the remarks to Rugger's University last week. But CBS and MSNBC let a great man go. I am 30 years old a democrat catholic male and a graduate from NYU stern and run my own business with my brother and mother. I used to listen to Stern but got bored with him and have become a avid fan of Imus. This guy from what I have herd has said worse things before but that was a different time when women did not have high power positions and "WHITE MEN" controlled society not women and minorities. I have nothing against black and minority males its just the women. I
I believe that CBS and MSNBC went to far and Obama, Sharpton and Jackson had to much social influence to really get rid of him.
If you say something racist and them immediately say you are sorry on the radio let it be and go on.
In America and in the world we cant really say anything anymore without having to be careful of offending someone. This is horrible. What happened to the first amendment and freedom of speech. I would never say fire in a crowed theater. But what is said was really nothing. People are idiots. God Bless all those evil women and right and left wingers.

He'll join Stern on sirius, and still make 40 million. I hope Sharpton keeps his promise to go after the rappers and the music industry. Remember what happen to Biggy Smalls. The music companies won't put up with people messin with their profits. Maybe Jessie Jackson can say a few words at Al's funeral? Sorry folks, nothing's going to change.

I don't think his firing was justified, but I would hate to see someone strike it rich just for making inane, vulgar comments.

I do find it hypocritical that Imus was castigated for these remarks, while Howard Stern continues to treat women like meat on his show.

The hypocrisy seems to have political overtones, and Al Sharpton is well known for his blatant opportunism. But let's not hold Don Imus up as the gold standard for martyrdom.

My prediction is that he will be coming back to
Satellite Radio whenever the merger is done.
I agree with the rest of the statement.

could be, but the wounds will need to heal for a while. His statements were way out of line, but on the other hand I don't want any party telling me what is appropriate to say. PC is in meltdown mode. it's time to start rationalizing it, before you can't say good morning anymore.

Imus will be back, probably on satelite. He won't have as many high profile people on for interviews.

Like Stern, he will land on his feet at satellite radio and laugh all the way to the bank.
