I know...this isn't the "cultures" section, but I see a lot of hatred for Israel in this section.

I'm trying to learn much about the world so I can find my footing in the political realm.

I didn't say Americans...if you choose to name some, then please, by all means do.

My question is simple...

My suspicion is that there are a couple of things at play here.....

First, by its nature, Judaism calls its people the CHOSEN PEOPLE....That is to say that God has chosen them as his favorites.........Imagine being on the outside and hearing people call themselves God's favorites............

Second, Jews have achieved enormous success in Western culture.......and envy is a powerful motivator of hate....

Third, the UN's decision to create a Jewish state on the most important piece of land to three major religions was a huge mistake and has created tremendous hate....

A 2,000 year old myth - that the Jews killed Christ, completely ignoring the fact that Jesus was himself Jewish! He was a HEBREW - you know, Jewish! Also, Jews were allowed to loan money and charge interest for that, and Christians were not, so there was a lot of resentment because of that. There have been many lies told about Jews, like the hoax of the paper called "The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion" (which some people still think is real) which was originated in Russia in the early part of the 20th century. There have been abuses of power by the Israeli GOVERNMENT (not the PEOPLE), like bulldozing the homes of the families of terrorists (instead of locking up just the terrorist, so it was collective punishment instead of punishment of those solely responsible), but the Israeli people are starting to know that despite the internal censorship of the media these things are happening, so things are changing over there. I don't care for a lot of what the Israeli government has done, but most of the Jewish people I ever met were really fine folks, and I wouldn't mind having them as my neighbors.

My guess...
Christian animosity over the killing of Christ would be the point of origin.

That and a few other things such as, old Catholic usury laws which Jews were able to circumvent (well because they weren't catholic) and profit mightily during the middle ages.

as well as the fact that Jews remain apart from any larger social group they find themselves in. Insistence on maintaining a separate and distinct language and social norms really gets under people skin who are not Jewish.

Why do Jews restrict in the modern era other peoples ability to become Jewish? Seems like they are snobs and exclusionary. Thus in my view further creating mistrust and animosity toward the Jewish people.

The Chosen people idea. The best hope for the jewish community in my country is the most right party. The republicans.

I'd say ignorance.
The fight with Israel began, if you look at History, after the British got themselves involved.
I cannot understand why by now both sides are killing innocent people to prove a point they should have been making to the UK and not each other.

The Jewish community is a close community in comparison to most communities. They have their own ways and they protect their ways. They have always been like this and that strength of community has lead to their success for the most part. People take offense to this and so what they cannot penetrate or break, they hate.
